The iconic mid-size sedan has just been redesigned and entered its eleventh generation. With all the novelties introduced, it’s safe to say that the Accord is once again the best model in the class. However, that doesn’t mean that we won’t be seeing novelties in the following years. It looks like there is more to come, especially in terms of electrification. Namely, we have been hearing a lot of rumors about the 2024 Honda Accord Electric lately, which clearly indicates that something is cooking in Honda’s kitchen.
At this point, it’s hard to predict some more precise things regarding technical details. On the other hand, we presume that this model won’t have much in common with the ICE Accord, despite the same nameplate. Instead, the electric sedan would ride on an EV platform and probably feature a little bit of different styling. Also, we don’t expect mass production to start so soon. Instead, we presume the new Accord would be offered in selected markets, initially.
2024 Honda Accord Electric Design
So, the first thing that’s interesting about the 2024 Honda Accord Electric is the overall design. As we’ve just mentioned, things probably won’t be all that similar to the standard, gas-powered Accord. Despite the same nameplate, the all-electric version would probably ride on a dedicated EV platform. Does this mean that this is going to be one of the first Honda models to ride on the new architecture, or maybe the all-electric Accord could go in the same direction as the upcoming Prologue SUV and borrow battery and electric motors from General Motors, a so-called Ultium battery technology.
In any case, we expect to see a typical 4-door sedan layout, in a typical Accord manner. Still, the dimensions could be a little bit bigger compared to the conventional model, especially in terms of the wheelbase, which could be notably long. Of course, we also expect Honda to implement a little bit different design language, something that would accentuate the model’s all-electric nature.
Interior
The same thing is with interior design. Some things will be the same as in the ICE Accord, some things won’t. For example, the overall layout will be pretty much the same, whereas the 2024 Honda Accord Electric will feature a typical 4-door sedan layout. So, count on two rows of seats, which can be even more spacious, due to the aforementioned expected longer wheelbase.
On the other hand, the dashboard might come with a little bit different design approach. The new gas-powered Accord looks great from the inside, with great build quality and elegant design. Still, the all-electric model would probably feature a little bit different dashboard design, with a simplistic layout, something that’s more typical for modern EVs, with the lack of physical controls and massive screens.
2024 Honda Accord Electric Specs
As we’ve just mentioned, this aspect of the 2024 Honda Accord Electric is still a mystery and a lot of things will depend on the architecture. As Honda’s EV platform is still under development and may not be ready for another few years, we believe that GM’s Ultium platform might be a more logical choice.
In that case, we might see the same setup as in Prologue SUV. This means we would see both FWD and AWD variants of the Accord, where the base FWD model would probably feature around 200 horsepower. With the additional electric motor on the rear end, the max output would be much higher, so the overall performance would be impressive too.
Details about the battery are also a mystery, but we presume the new sedan would pack enough large battery to make around 250-300 miles on a single charge.

Although the officials are still quiet, some sources suggest that the 2024 Honda Accord Electric could arrive already in the next year.
