2025 Acura RDX: What to Expect?

If we consider that the current generation of Acura’s compact SUV has been around since 2019 and look at the production cycles of the previous two generations, it seems quite possible to see a complete redesign for the 2025 Acura RDX. However, some sources suggest a different scenario. According to them, the company will keep the current model for some more time and make another refresh. Allegedly, the reason is the fact that the company is currently busy with electrification and that it will, just like many other carmakers these days, extend the lifespan of the current generation.

In such a scenario, the 2025 Acura RDX would get another refresh. The company already updated this model for 2022 and brought subtle changes, so we might see a little bit greater portion this time, with more styling updates and more new interior features. On the other hand, we don’t expect bigger changes under the hood.

We presume that the launch date will be scheduled for the second half of 2024.

2025 Acura RDX Design

As we’ve just mentioned, there is a big chance that the 2025 Acura RDX won’t get a full redesign. Instead, the Japanese manufacturer would rather offer another update and in this case, the focus would be on aesthetics. We presume that the front end could come with some revisions, which would refer to parts like headlights and grille, while the front bumper could also get slight reshaping. On the other end, updates are possible too, in areas like taillights, rear bumper etc.

Naturally, there is always room for typical updates like new color options and wheels. The mechanical aspect, though, will remain unchanged. We are about to see a familiar layout, based on the current model, with the same chassis and suspension setup that offer engaging handling and a pretty good overall driving experience.

Interior

We presume that the upcoming refresh might bring a couple of interior updates as well. Some of the things that come to mind are dashboard updates, where we could see some revisions on the center stack, while some sources also speculate about a new infotainment system, as well as a revised instrument cluster. The center console could be revised too, while we also count on updates in terms of new color schemes, new materials and similar things.

On the other hand, the overall cabin layout certainly won’t change and the seating configuration will remain the same. With more than 108 inches in wheelbase, this compact SUV is large enough to offer two pretty spacious rows of seats, both accommodating adults with ease. The front seats also offer good side support, while the driving position is excellent. The same is with the cargo area, which offers around 29.5 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats upright and 58.9 cubic feet in total, which is great for a compact luxury SUV.

Features

Naturally, we would expect to see novelties in this aspect as well. We already talked about the possibility of new screens, but updates in other aspects are possible too. Still, we should keep in mind that the current model already stands pretty well when it comes to standard and available equipment.

For reference, the current model comes standard with goodies like a 10.2-inch infotainment display, Amazon Alexa, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hot spot, voice recognition, Bluetooth, a nine-speaker stereo, multiple USB ports, satellite radio, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster display, a universal garage door opener, dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a panoramic roof.

Additionally, there are available upgrades like a 12- or 16-speaker ELS Studio premium stereo, navigation and wireless device charging, GPS-linked climate control, multicolor ambient interior lighting and remote start.

2025 Acura RDX Engine

On the other hand, we don’t expect to see any changes under the hood. The 2025 Acura RDX should continue with a well-known 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 272 horsepower, which is plenty enough for great driving dynamics. Moreover, the engine comes coupled with a smooth and refined 10-speed automatic transmission, the same that can be found in the previous-generation Accord, while you can also opt for the company’s well-known all-wheel-drive system with torque vectoring. Base models feature front-wheel drive only.

When it comes to fuel economy, you may count on up to 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, which is pretty good for the segment.

We expect to see the 2025 Acura RDX sometime in the second half of the next year, with a starting price of around 43.000 dollars.

  1. Issues like noisy breaks, breaking rear windows and questionable fuel consumption are far more concerning to me than any level of overhaul. This is a very good vehicle that needs attention to these problems if this vehicle is to maintain its good image .
