2024 Honda Fit Is Getting Mid-Cycle Update

The current generation of the popular subcompact hatchback has been around for a couple of years and the Japanese manufacturer already works on updates. From what we know so far, the JDM version will get updates first, which will be followed by other markets, including European Jazz. The 2024 Honda Fit is about to receive a variety of changes, mostly in terms of aesthetics, though some sources also suggest powertrain upgrades.

Allegedly, this refresh will bring various upgrades, including the new RS look, with lots of exclusive, sporty styling details. On the other hand, the overall layout is about to remain the same. Simply, this generation was introduced in 2019 and still has a couple of good years before it receives a full redesign.

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Honda Fit will receive a mid-cycle refresh and from what we know so far, most of the changes will be in terms of aesthetics. This should be a typical facelift, with the focus on the front-end updates, in areas like headlights, front fascia, bumper etc. Also, there is the RS trim, which adds a lot of sporty details, such as a more aggressive grille and bumpers, larger intakes, red RS badges, deeper side sills, larger alloy wheels, and a rear spoiler. However, we can’t call this version a hot hatch, because there are no mechanical upgrades, such as sports suspension, a more powerful engine etc.

Despite the updates, the mechanical aspect of the vehicle will remain the same. This refers to all aspects, including suspension and chassis setup, which are relatively simple. As a result, the ride is on the firm side. Still, a positive side of such a design approach is pretty engaging handling and direct steering.

Interior

On the inside, most things are about to remain the same, though the RS will be characterized by a decent number of distinguishing details. Some of the highlights are goodies like a leather steering wheel, new paddles for controlling regenerative braking, and a new drive mode selector.

On the other hand, the overall cabin layout will remain the same. This refers not just to the dashboard design, but to specific features as well. Therefore, the 2024 Honda Fit will continue with a familiar 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 9-inch infotainment screen etc. Of course, the amount of passenger and cargo space will also remain the same, with comfortable and spacious front seats and reasonably generous second. The cargo area also offers decent capacity.

2024 Honda Fit Engines

As we already mentioned, many reports suggest that the hybrid version could get a slight upgrade. Currently, the Fit uses a system that combines a 1.5-liter inline-four petrol engine with two electric motors, for a combined output of 107 horsepower and 253Nm of torque. Allegedly, the max output would be increased by 129 horsepower and 253Nm of torque, which is the same output as in the HR-V crossover. Of course, the system comes paired with a CVT.

Other than the hybrid powertrain, the 2024 Honda Fit will continue with familiar petrol engines. The most common is a 1.5-liter unit, which comes in two variants, depending on the market. In some parts of the world, it is tuned to 120 horsepower and 145Nm of torque. In markets like China, there is a more powerful version, with 133 horsepower and 155Nm of torque. Finally, there is a 1.3-liter inline-four offered in Japan, with a max output of 98 horsepower and 119 pound-feet of torque.

  1. What safety features does the 2024 Honda Fit have? I don’t mean the airbags. Does it have a backup camer, lane change warnings, etc.
