2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid Debut Set for the First Half of 2023

From the latest report, it seems that the new nonhybrid CR-V will go on sale this summer, while the hybrid model could be introduced in the first half of 2023 as the 2024 model. So, the new model should be called the 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid, and it will look significantly better than before.

Key differences include a more spacious cabin, new features, and an updated hybrid powertrain. As far as we know, the hybrid setup will consist of a 2.0-liter gasoline engine, and two electric motors, producing around 204 horsepower. Thanks to that, Honda Claims that the Hybrid model can tow up to 1000 pounds.

2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid Design

The new 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid gets a handsome redesign.  Compared to the gasoline version, the hybrid one looks significantly more modern. This model features refreshed design language, which includes an upright nose with a prominent grille, along with the revised LED headlights.

Besides, the manufacturer also makes some changes to the side profile adding more attractive wheels. The rear is redesigned as well, and we noticed a new taillight shape as well as some modifications. As the upcoming Prologue electric SUV, the new CR-V hybrid will reportedly sit on the same GM’s global electric platform. So, because of that, CR-V looks a bit larger than before. However, it is not quite as big as the 3-row Pilot.

Very Modern Interior

On the inside, the 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid features a very modern design. The similar styling, we saw in the new HR-V and Civic models. We like everything inside including a honeycomb-pattern insert that’s stretching across the dash.

According to Honda, a 7.0-inch touchscreen is standard on the EX and Sport trims, while the EX-L and Sport Touring bring a larger 9.0-inch screen. Safety is also better than before, and buyers can expect standard blind-spot monitoring, as well as hill-descent control.

2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid Setup

According to Honda, the new 2024 Honda CR-V is the SUV that will be available with two powertrains. It includes a turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four and a hybrid setup that uses a 2.0-liter gasoline engine connected with two electric motors. The base model is capable of producing 212 hp, while the hybrid one is 204 hp.

Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is optional on all but the Sport Touring. The CR-V hybrid’s EPA fuel economy figures are according to Honda beyond the 38-mpg combined rating. In general, we don’t expect the nonhybrid’s efficiency to change much, around 29 mpg combined, while with front-wheel drive 30 mpg. There are also a few drive modes including Normal and Econ, plus a Sport mode for Sport and Sport Touring models.

The design of the new SUV looks upscale and is definitively a step up compared to the previous one. Unfortunately, Honda didn’t reveal any pricing details of the CR-V model. So, we’re expecting more official news within the next few months.
