2024 Honda Pilot Hybrid Spied Testing

The new 2024 Honda Pilot Hybrid has been spotted testing, looking a bit like the Ford Explorer. Judging by new spy shots, the forthcoming SUV is set to undergo a redesign for the first time since 2016. The new prototype has been spotted a couple of times while driving around, giving us a good look at what we can expect from the hybrid model.

Interestingly, like the next-gen Acura MDX, the new Honda Pilot Hybrid will ride on the same platform, which means it will move away from its current platform. It will also use the same hybrid powertrain as we saw in the Accord Hybrid.

2024 Honda Pilot Hybrid Design

As far as we know at the moment, the new 2024 Honda Pilot Hybrid will be refreshed for the following year, and it will use some design cues from Accord and Odyssey models.

In general, we can expect the new SUV to be more attractive thanks to some modifications to its front fascia. Basically, Honda will revise LED headlights, and they will add a new front grille. We’re also expecting to see some refreshments on the side and rear as well. Overall, the new SUV will definitely look better than before.

Cabin Upgrades

Just like in the case with the exterior, the interior of the 2024 Honda Pilot Hybrid should be updated. Anyway, we don’t expect to see any changes in terms of the seating layout. As the base model, the hybrid one will offer the same 31.9 inches of rear legroom, which isn’t bad.

Cargo space is 16.5 cubic feet and it can be spanned to a maximum of 109.2 cubic feet. However, unlike the base model, the hybrid one will come with a larger infotainment system as well as Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 3-zone automatic climate control, plus the full Honda Sensing array of driver assistance features.

2024 Honda Pilot Hybrid Specs

Just like the Accord Hybrid, the new Honda Pilot will use the same system. This means we can expect a very potent 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine running on regular gasoline complemented by an electric motor. The electric motor runs off a lithium-ion battery. Thanks to that, this system produces 212 horsepower.

As for torque, the gasoline engine makes 129 lb-ft and the electric motor develops 232 lb-ft. Anyway, we don’t know if the manufacturer put another electric engine in, making an all-wheel drive standard.

2024 Honda Pilot Hybrid Price, Release Date

The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the current front-drive Honda Pilot Sport is $37,580, while all-wheel drive is another $2,000. Upper trim like EX-L starts at $39,810, while SE is around $40,410. A Honda Pilot Touring is one of the favorite models, which is $44,370. You can also get for almost $50K a Honda Pilot Elite, while the Black Edition starts at $51,370.

So, the hybrid model could begin at $47,000. For comparison, the Kia Telluride, which is in our opinion a better option starts at $33K and is in the same line as the Hyundai Palisade, Ford Explorer, Subaru Ascent, Chevrolet Traverse, Nissan Pathfinder, and Volkswagen Atlas. All mentioned models including Hybrid will go on sale sometime next year.

  1. Kind of looks like an Army truck. No small window. Make back windows bigger. If it stays like this, I won’t buy it!
Lose the small window, enlarge the back windows, please!
