Reportedly, Honda will end production of its Insight sedan next year. So, the 2024 Honda Insight will probably be the last model because Honda is preparing to introduce a new fleet of new gasoline-electric cars, including a Hybrid ones.
For those who may not know, the Insight was refreshed last time in 2018, and after that Honda confirmed that production will ended up in coming years. Anyway, they stated that the new CR-V Hybrid, followed by an Accord Hybrid are coming. Also, electrified versions of those models will be available as well in near future. The Honda Insight as its spiritual successor, the Civic hybrid, will use the same efficient gas-electric powertrain under its hood.
2024 Honda Insight Design
Considering that the 2024 Honda Insight is rumored, we don’t know what it will look like. Unfortunately, there are no spy shots or renderings of the upcoming sedan. However, from information that’s not official, we can expect some mid-cycle refresh compared to the outgoing model. This means Honda will make some revision on the Insight to keep up with other competitors.
We’re expecting to see a more attractive both front and rear end, featuring a new grille, and probably lighting system. There is also rumor that Honda might introduce some new colors, as well as new set of wheels.
More Modern Interior
We don’t expect to see the new 2024 Honda Insight completely revised inside. Basically, we’re expecting it to keep the same seating layout, which provides spacious cabin for up to five passengers. Also, Honda will make cabin more pleasant adding more quality materials. Like the outgoing model, the new one will continue to offer the same big trunk.
Considering that this model is hybrid, Honda cleverly packaged lithium-ion battery behind the back seats. We presume that the current 8-inch infotainment system will be replaced with a larger one, and that Honda will add more standard features. The Touring model is the favorite one among customers because it include leather seating, dual-zone climate control, auto-dimming mirror, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
2024 Honda Insight Engine Specs
Every Honda Insight model comes with the same hybrid powertrain, that is also under the Civic Hybrid. The 1.5-liter inline-4 with electric motor makes a total output of 151 horsepower. Also, every Insight comes as standard with a CVT automatic transmission, delivering power to the front wheels.
As you can see, a hybrid powertrain provides smooth power, which is yielded with excellent fuel economy. The current EPA city/highway fuel economy of this model is 55/49 mpg with the EX-model, and 51/45 mpg for the Touring variant.
2024 Honda Insight Price, Release Date
The 2024 Honda Insight will likely to cost slightly more than before. The starting MSRP of the current EX trim is $25,760, while upgrading to the loaded Touring trim, price jumps to $29,790. We must add that destination charge is around $1,015.
The most direct competitor to the Honda Insight is the Toyota Corolla Hybrid, which has the same size, fuel economy and price. According to numerous reports, the 2024MY may hit the dealerships next summer.
