The off-road-oriented 2023 Honda Passport TrailSport will reportedly go on sale next year, featuring many upgrades over the regular variant. The new midgrade trim level, according to Honda, will sit above the base EX-L model, and it will be below the top-spec Elite. Interestingly, alongside the Passport, the manufacturer will also use the same treatments on the upcoming three-row Pilot model as well. The TrailSport models come with enhanced suspensions, all-wheel-drive systems, and beefier off-road hardware.
However, as the regular Passport that comes with 3.5-liter V6, the TrailSport model will also use the same engine. So, we can expect great performance and the same output of 280 horsepower.
2023 Honda Passport TrailSport First Look
The new 2023 Honda Passport TrailSport is an upcoming off-road SUV that looks pretty much the same visually as the regular one. According to Honda, this model is the answer for the smaller Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road and larger Volkswagen Atlas. The TrailSport models will get an upgrade that should include an 18-inch wheel with all-season road rubber, front “skid garnish”, unique exhaust treatment, black trim, and enhanced suspensions.
Despite many off-road upgrades, this model is still far behind Subaru’s Outback and Forester Wilderness model, which get suspension lifts, all-terrain tires, and skidplates.
Interior Details
Inside, the 2023 Honda Passport TrailSport looks sportier than the regular model, thanks to some orange interior accents. It also comes with contrast stitching and embroidered headrests. Other than that, basically, everything else remains the same.
The latest Passport is offered with many standard features, even the entry-level model. All models include an 8-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, and Intelligent Traction Management. The Honda Sensing suite of driver assistance is the highlight, and it includes automatic emergency braking with forward collision warning, road departure mitigation with lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control.

The new 2023 Honda Passport TrailSport will reportedly use the same engine as the regular model. The sole 3.5-liter V6 engine is powering the Honda Passport, and it develops 280 horses. This engine is proven, providing a great balance of power and efficiency.
It also has a 9-speed automatic transmission that does an excellent job delivering quick and smooth shifts. When properly equipped, this SUV has a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. In general, that’s enough to tow a small camper, a fishing boat, or even an ATV.

As mentioned, the new Honda Passport TrailSport will probably hit markets sometime next year, and we’re expecting at the same time the Pilot model to receive the same treatment. Unlike the regular Passport, models that wears TrailSport kit will get enhanced suspensions, all-wheel-drive systems, and beefier off-road hardware.
We should also expect it to features a more upscale cabin and more supportive seats as well. However, the Passport TrailSport is not an affordable SUV at all because it costs $41,195, which is far more than the $38,120 Subaru Outback Wilderness model.
