2023 Honda e:Ny1 All-Electric SUV Unveiled

Honda finally confirms it’s working on a new SUV called e:Ny1. From information that we got, the forthcoming 2023 Honda e:Ny1 will be an all-electric SUV that should go on sale in Europe next year. Unfortunately, at this point there are no words on whether this model could reach the US shores.

The electric crossover will be reportedly much smaller than the European HR-V, but it strongly reminds us of it. Fortunately, we have some images of the prototype, and it looks stunning. It features a unique blend of dynamics, technology, and design. Thanks to all that, this SUV is a great option for families who are looking for EV SUVs.

2023 Honda e:Ny1 First Look

The new 2023 Honda e:Ny1 Prototype looks very compact and attractive at first glance. As we mentioned, there are some renderings of the upcoming all-electric SUV, and it will definitively ride on a stretched version of the Honda e’s platform.

However, the electric crossover design strongly reminds us of the European HR-V and its size is much smaller. Anyway, the new B-segment SUV provides a unique blend of dynamics, technology, and is excellent for families that are looking for an SUV with sedan capabilities.

Interior Rumors

At this point, we don’t know anything about the interior of the 2023 Honda e:Ny1. Many believe it will be more comfortable than the CR-V. However, it could share the same technology with the mentioned model. The current CR-V comes standard with Honda Sensing safety tech suite, which includes forward automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, road departure mitigation, and adaptive cruise control.

Also, it has a dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a power moonroof, push-button start, and more. On the technology side, the CR-V includes a system with a 7-inch screen, Bluetooth streaming audio, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay with 8-speaker audio. We expect all to be available on the new Honda e:Ny1 and probably a more larger infotainment system as well.

2023 Honda e:Ny1 Battery Capacity and Range

So far, there are no technical specs revealed for the 2023 Honda e:Ny1 Concept. Many believe that it may be related to the e:NS1 and e:NP1 concepts that are available in China.

If that happens, we can expect at least a 68.8 kWh battery capacity that has been claimed to range up to 311 miles (500 km). As we said, the manufacturer will also introduce a model that should use an updated e:HEV full hybrid technology seen on the recently introduced Honda Civic.

2023 Honda e:Ny1 Release Date, Price

From the latest report, the forthcoming 2023 Honda e:Ny1 should go on sale next year. It’s worth mentioning that this model will be available only for the European customers. Besides, Honda will expand the availability of its e:HEV full hybrid technology in the year 2023 as well.

So, we can expect more models to come and to use this technology. The next generation 2023 CR-V will also arrive next year as well, and it will be available with both full hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain options. Unfortunately, Honda didn’t reveal any information regarding the price of its all-electric SUV.
