A famous Japanese manufacturer yesterday reported that the new 2023 Honda Civic Hybrid and Type R will both arrive in 2022. Alongside them, we should also expect a new Honda Civic Si that is coming reportedly in October of this year.
However, Honda didn’t reveal any information about a hybrid model, but it will get an e:HEV 2-motor hybrid system from speculations. So, it will probably use a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine similar to the one found in the new Civic. Additionally, we expect a hybrid engine to produce more than the regular model. That means we should expect at least 200 horses. Moreover, it’s unclear whether the Hybrid will be available only as a hatchback or the sedan.
2023 Honda Civic Hybrid Design
Outside, the new 2023 Honda Civic Hybrid will gain some modifications that will separate it from the other models in the lineup. However, from information that is leaked, the new model will use Hondas e:HEV 2-motor hybrid system, which means we can expect a new platform.
Proportionally this model will remain the same as the regular variant, but the only difference will be a battery under the floor. The biggest news is that the Type R will make a return for the 11th-gen Civic. However, at this point, there were no details given on the high-performance model. In general, we expect this variant to receive a much aggressive treatment than the outgoing version. The Honda Civic Si will be available as well, and it should look much better than before.
On the inside, we expect the new 2023 Honda Civic Hybrid to come with more premium materials. However, we don’t have any clue if this model will be available as a hatchback or sedan variant. Overall, we all know that Honda is one of the famous manufacturers in the world, and we are not need to worry about comfort and design finishes.
As per many gossips, the new Hybrid might receive the same treatment inside as the Touring trim level. This model includes an all-digital 10.2-inch LCD screen, a wireless smartphone charger, a pair of rear USB ports, front and rear parking sensors, and much more.
2023 Honda Civic Hybrid Setup
As we mentioned, Honda didn’t reveal any information regarding the hybrid model. Many believe that it will deploy a new e:HEV 2-motor hybrid system. In general, we expect it to use a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine similar to the one found in the regular Civic.
However, thanks to a hybrid setup, the engine will surely produce more than the standard model. The current Honda Civic with this engine makes 180 horses, so expect a hybrid one to offer at least 200 horses.
Release Date and Price
The 2023 Honda Civic Hybrid will arrive next year with mild refreshments to stand up from the regular model. Actually, we expect some minor revision on the exterior and an even more comfortable cabin.
As per leaked information, the automaker has confirmed that alongside the new Civic Hybrid, there will also be introduced a completely new Type R model.
