Honda is currently working on the all-new so-called 2022 Honda ZR-V model that will make its way to European markets, alongside Indian countries. From the latest information, the new SUV will look almost identical to the WR-V model.
Generally, many believe that ZR-V will replace this model in the near future. The rendering photos are published, and we must admit, the forthcoming model looks attractive and more compact than the WR-V. However, besides renderings, there’s still no official confirmation when we can expect the Honda ZR-V to be released.
2022 Honda ZR-V Exterior
The 2022 Honda ZR-V’s exterior design will use many cues from the WR-X, Vezel, and CR-V models. Basically, the exterior looks sleek, and the front fascia is somehow different from its current counterparts. Interestingly, the rendering photos reveal an attractive black honeycomb mesh grille and front chrome bumper.
The front LED headlights are integrated with DRLs and turn indicators, similar to those present in the new-gen CR-V. On the back, ZR-V sports a blacked-out spoiler and a chrome plate between the two LED taillights. Other notable highlights are dual-tone appearance, dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels, and grey colored roof rails.
Considering that the 2022 Honda ZR-V will be a spiritual successor of the current WR-V crossover, we should expect a similar cabin. Although the ZR-V shares underpinnings with the Amaze sedan, its cabin will be more spacious. According to some reports, the upcoming compact SUV will allow five passengers to sit comfortably, offering decent legroom and headroom.
However, in terms of techs, the ZR-V will include Honda Sensing, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 7-inch-display audio/infotainment system that’s Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatible, and 4-speaker/160-watt audio system. Moreover, rearview camera and cruise control are also part of Honda Sensing standard driver-assistive technologies.
2022 Honda ZR-V Engine Rumors
At this point, there is no clue about what engine will power the all-new 2022 Honda ZR-V. Most likely, it will use some of the proven engines from Honda. Basically, many rumors indicate that it will use a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged petrol as the base option. However, the manufacturer could also offer a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine with hybrid technology.
As for India, ZR-V would use the same engine as its platform sharing friend Amaze. That means a 1.2-liter petrol i-VTEC unit will power it. This engine under the Amaze develops a maximum power output of 90 horses.
Release Date and Price
The all-new 2022 Honda ZR-V is still in the stage of development. Basically, there is no official confirmation when we can expect the Honda ZR-V to arrive.
From plenty of rumors, this small compact SUV may happen sometime next year. To be competitive, it could start much lower than the current WR-V. Generally, we cannot wait to see how this model will go head to head with rivals such as Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Tata Nexon, along with Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue.
