Honda will update its front with visually better-LED headlights, new bumper, 18-inch wheels, and blackout grille. Moreover, choosing one of trims EX, EX-L, and Touring, buyers will get a new round LED fog lights.
Interestingly, the CR-V Hybrid will feature a more distinctive look. Generally, this model separates from the regular one by blue Honda badge and slightly revised rear bumper with the hidden exhaust.
Interior Refreshments
Believe it or not, the 2022 Honda CR-V will feature the same cabin as the predecessor. The two-row passenger SUV will provide a roomy cabin for five occupants. Like before, this SUV comes in four trims: LX, EX, EX-L, and Touring. The entry model LX includes Honda Sensing, a 5-inch color screen, automatic climate control, 6-way manual-adjust driver’s seat, a rearview camera, cruise control, and a 4-speaker/160-watt audio system.
Top-line Touring models justifies its price with a 7-inch-display audio/infotainment system that’s Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatible, navigation, heated steering wheel, wireless charge pad, 9-speaker/330-watt premium audio system.
Is the 2022 Honda CR-V a Safe SUV?
Honda Sensing is available on all 2022 Honda CR-Vs models. This excellent package bundles frontal-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with the lane-keeping system, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow.
2022 Honda CR-V Powertrain Specs
The upcoming 2022 Honda CR-V is the model that will use two engine options, and one of them is hybrid. The base model uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that delivers 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy is acceptable and on Highway is estimated at 34 mpg on front-drive models. However, adding AWD drive, fuel economy will drop by two mpg. Moreover, like before standard CVT automatic could be used.
Hybrid System
The 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid will use a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine and two electric motors. Thanks to this setup, the Hybrid model provides total output is 212 horsepower. It comes standard with all-wheel drive, and it uses a continuously variable automatic transmission (eCVT). In both front- and all-wheel-drive models, towing is rated at 1,500 pounds.
Price and Release Date
We should expect the new 2022 Honda CR-V to cost $26,500 for the base LX model. However, going for a better-equipped EX price will jump to $28,000. Top-line CR-V Touring edition starts just over $33,000, while Hybrid estimated costs $28,000. As you can see, Hybrid is quite affordable compared to other trim levels.
At these prices are models such as Hyundai Santa Fe, Toyota RAV4, while Chevrolet Equinox and Ford Escape, start slightly lower.
