2021 Honda Clarity Review, Plug-In Hybrid, Hydrogen Fuel Cell

The upcoming 2021 Honda Clarity is the sedan that looks very different from the other Honda members. This family car is showcasing the new cutting-edge propulsion technology.

From the information that we got, the trunk capacity of the new sedan is 16 cubic feet in the plug-in-hybrid model or 12 cubic feet in the fuel-cell car.

In terms of technology, Clarity offers a very rich package of standard equipment. This sedan includes new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto capability, two USB ports, and more. Moreover, going for the Touring version that is the most expensive trim, it adds factory navigation and eight-speaker setup. However, going for the fuel-cell model, buyers will get a 12-speaker audio system and more equipment.

Every Clarity model comes standardly with a suite of driver-assistance technologies, along with the Honda LaneWatch system. Thanks to that, the new model offers automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and also an adaptive cruise control.

The next one hydrogen-powered. It uses a 174-hp electric motor that draws electricity from a fuel cell. Unlike the plug-in hybrid, the hydrogen unit can hit 60 mph in 8.1 seconds.

Release Date and Price

From the latest Honda statement, the forthcoming 2021 Clarity sedan will arrive at the beginning of the next year. Pricing is not yet officially revealed, but from many gossips, the base plug-in hybrid will start at $35,000, while the top range Touring cost $38,000. As for the hydrogen-powered model, Honda recently revealed that there are 40 hydrogen fueling stations across California. In addition, this model should cost around $60,000.
