Considering that the 2022 model is postponed reportedly, the Civic will arrive at dealerships next spring as a 2023 model.
From the first spy shots, the Honda Civic design has adopted a more mature look than before. The new model features cleaner surfaces and proportionally is the same as the outgoing version. As for the powertrains, they are likely to be carried from the current model. That means buyers could get a choice of 1.5- and 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-4s. Moreover, performance fans can look forward to the new Si and Type R models.
2023 Honda Civic Facelift
The new latest spy shots show a prototype of the upcoming 2023 Honda Civic. At first glance, we noticed many improvements over the previous model. Moreover, the caught model is in the form of the hatchback, but the sedan version should be available as well.
First of all, the Civic platform is tougher, more rigid, and the latest model features many upgrades. The front fascia is recognized thanks to the same design language with attractive LED headlights and low hood. Generally, Honda prefers the same design on all models. According to images, the hatchbacks A-pillars are further back relative to the driver, offering better visibility. Overall, the design is fresh, and we cannot wait to see the final product.
Interior Gets Serious Upgrade
The forthcoming 2023 Honda Civic has evolved into premium car. This model features more modern touches than its rivals. However, like the outgoing model, the new one offers the same spacious interior noteworthy in the compact-car class. The rear legroom is impressive, and the Civic offers 37.4 inches, while the trunk space is 15.1 cubic feet. The Civic Hatchback also does well with 25.7 cubic feet behind the rear seats that can increase to 46.2 cubic feet folding seats down. In terms of technology, the Base LX should be finally offered with a better and bigger 7-inch touchscreen that is easy to use. The best of all, Civic supports Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration.
Overall, if you need something more sporty, then the Civic Type R is an ideal choice. The interior of this model is highlighted by high-bolstered sport seats, black material that looks like suede, and eye-catching double-red stitching.
Under the hood, the latest 2023 Honda Civic will continue to deploy the same engines as its predecessor. There are exactly three of them. The base model uses a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder that produces 158 horses. This engine is available with LX and Sport sedan models. However, all the hatchback in EX, EX-L trim, and Touring are powered by a turbocharged 1.5-litre 4-cylinder that makes 174 horsepower.
Finally, the most powerful Civic Type R comes with a turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine that sends 306 horsepower to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.
