2023 Honda Civic Sport Is a Solid Value Car That Costs Only $25,000

The 2023 Honda Civic Sport is an upcoming compact sedan that features very attractive styling. If you didn’t know, this model went through a full redesign last year, so, basically, we expect the new version to be a carryover model. On the outside, the Sport variant differs from the regular model in a few things, featuring more uniqueness.

Slotting just above the base Civic LX, the Sport includes some underbody trim, a decklid spoiler and black badges. On top of that, this trim is super handsome inside, offering excellent quality and very supportive seats. However, as the base LX trim, the Sport model uses Honda’s naturally aspirated 2.0-liter I4 that produces 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque.

As we mentioned, the 2023 Honda Civic Sport is slotting just above the base Civic LX, and it has a few extra exterior accessories. This model includes some underbody trim, decklid spoiler and black badges. Thanks to that, the Civic Sport is an attractive little four-door model.

It also comes standard with LED headlights and taillights, with gloss-black mirror caps and a chrome exhaust tip. The new Sport model comes with stylish gloss black 18-inch alloys with 235/40-series all-season tires vs base 16-inch wheels. Thanks to all above, this model looks pretty upscale compared to the base variant.

What’s New Inside?

The only downside of the 2023 Honda Civic Sport is that you can’t get all of the Touring’s features. Unlike the base LX model, the new Civic Sport offers more supportive seats and, unfortunately, the same 7-inch color touchscreen multimedia system. Actually, we expected a much larger display, but other than that, everything inside is upscale.

As standard, the Sport model includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, thankfully. However, you can get Honda’s cool new 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster, which was so far only available on Touring trim. As for safety, like the base LX, the Sport model has many assistance technologies, including lane-keeping assist, full-speed adaptive cruise control and Honda’s Traffic Jam Assist.

2023 Honda Civic Sport Engine Specs

Arguably the most exciting part of this sedan is under the hood. The 2023 Honda Civic Sport like the base LX, offers the same potent engine. This model is powered by Honda’s naturally aspirated 2.0-liter I4 that’s capable of producing 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque.

Unlike most of its rivals, this sedan comes standard with a continuously variable transmission, which is refined and well-behaved. Front wheel drive is standard configuration, but you can still get all-wheel drive optionally, which is a big plus.

Release Date and Price

The new 2023 Honda Civic Sport will reportedly debut sometime this year, while sales should start soon after. Besides more attractive exterior compared to the base model, the forthcoming Civic Sport will also offer more refined cabin. The current base Honda Civic LX starts at $22,695, while the Touring one is around $29,295.

However, the Honda Civic Sport cost $25,450, which is an increase of $450 compared to the 2021 model. As before, the new one will continue its battle with models such as the Subaru Impreza, Mazda 3, and Kia Forte.
