With the sharp styling, a surprisingly strong chassis, and a high-tech cabin, the 2023 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid looks better than ever. Acura’s flagship SUV will reportedly arrive next year, featuring many updates and changes. This SUV benefited from a comprehensive redesign last year, but it’s still not quite as posh as some rivals. However, it offers three engine options, one of which is a Hybrid.
Under the hood of the MDX Sport Hybrid, you’ll find a 3.0-liter V-6 powertrain that produces 257-hp. Besides, the manufacturer added front wheels electric motor of 47-horsepower located in the transmission housing. However, on top of that, there are two other 36-horsepower motors mounted side by side between the rear wheels.
2023 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid Exterior
There are not many changes between a regular and hybrid variant in terms of styling. Both models are attractive, and both come with the same diamond grille, and stylish Acura’s familiar Jewel Eye LED headlights.
In general, the hybrid variant is only housing a hybrid nameplate on the side and on the back, and it gets 20-inch alloy wheels, power-folding side mirrors, front/rear parking sensors, and a power-operated tailgate. Moreover, you can also get a LED fog lights and roof rails with the Advance Package.
No matter if you choose a regular or hybrid variant, you’ll get a premium cabin. This SUV is unique and is equipped with a tremendous dual-screen infotainment system, navigation, smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto, a 10-speaker stereo, five USB ports, Bluetooth, a moonroof, and tri-zone automatic climate control. The dual-screen infotainment has a quick response and much better graphics than before. A head-up display is available as well and is ideal for a surround-view parking camera system.
Several driver assistance features come standards, such as a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, and road and lane departure warnings. Also, don’t forget lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a pre-collision warning and braking system, and adaptive cruise control. The MDX Hybrid has plenty of room and 15.8 cubic feet of space behind the third row, which can be expanded to 43.4 cubic feet.
