The all-new 2023 Honda Civic Si has been officially confirmed, and the first renderings just came up. Not too long ago, patent images of the upcoming Civic hatchback and sedan leaked online, revealing plenty of upgrades. For a start, both models look noticeably larger than the outgoing Civic, featuring many-body tweaks.
In addition, according to many gossips, the manufacturer will, alongside Civic Si, also introduce the more sporty Type R version. However, Honda is still quiet about these two models. At this point, it’s impossible to know what powertrain will manufacturer use for the next-generation model. The current model deploys a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder producing 205 hp and 192 lb-ft (260 Nm) of torque.
2023 Honda Civic Si Exterior
The first renderings of the 2023 Honda Civic Si reveal a very handsome styling. Like before, the Si should be available in sedan and coupe form. The front of the rendered sedan sports a unique revised fascia with a blacked-out section between the headlights and the same air intakes.
Of course, the Si won’t be attractive as the new Civic Type R. Moreover, the design will be slightly more restrained but is still very eye-catching. Other visible changes include bespoke wheels with a sporty-spoke design, a black roof, black wing mirrors, an attractive rear spoiler, a rear bumper, and a central exhaust system.
Interior Looks More Sporty
The interior of the 2023 Honda Civic Si will be more plush and sporty. Also, considering its dimensions, the cabin is relatively spacious and comfortable. Unlike the current model, the new Civic Si will offer more quality materials and more high-tech. Besides the new infotainment system, we should also expect Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.
Reportedly, the Civic Si will also host much more standard driver-assistance technologies. The package will include Honda’s LaneWatch that acts as a blind-spot monitor, forward-collision warning, automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.
2023 Honda Civic Si Powertrain Specs
At this point, there is no official info regarding the engine of the next generation 2023 Honda Civic Si. Generally, many believe that the manufacturer continues to offer the same engine as the current one. This model uses a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder capable of producing 205 hp and 192 lb-ft (260 Nm) of torque.
On the other hand, some speculating that it could borrow the engine from the Insight model. This handsome sedan uses the Atkinson cycle, which prioritizes efficiency overpower. The system is hybrid, and it consists of an electric motor that draws power from the lithium-ion battery. Thanks to that, the whole system produces around 151 horsepower, sending power through continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Release Date, Price
The 2023 Honda Civic Si has been confirmed, and we can expect its arrival in the summertime of 2022. Besides more attractive exterior design, it seems that the next generation will significantly grow in size. Thanks to that, we should expect more comfort and room.
Considering all the updates, the Honda Civic Si will probably cost a thousand of dollars more compared to its predecessor that starts at $26,000.
