The refreshed 2023 Acura TLX will arrive next year, deploying the same two engines as predecessor. Besides, the second generation will also bring some refreshed, including a much more stylish design, and one of the sportier cabins in the segment.
Under the hood, this sedan is powered by a very potent engines. The base sedan comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine producing 272 horsepower, while optionally, you can get a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 powertrain that makes 355 horsepower. Acura will also, alongside the regular model, introduce a high-performance variant, called Type S.
2023 Acura TLX Redesign
Outside, the 2023 Acura TLX will be more attractive for sure. The new sedan will grow nearly three inches in length to 194.6 inches from the information that we got. At that size, the TLX is almost identical to the midsize Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the BMW 3 Series.
Moreover, styling will be refreshed, and the new model should come with more longer hood, decklid spoiler, black chrome badging, and rear diffuser. In general, we also expect an attractive honeycomb grille and a more premium aesthetic. The new TLX Type S is our favorite model, and it looks sportier thanks to the open-surface diamond pentagon, decklid spoiler, and the new quad exhaust tips.
Interior Specs
On the inside, the 2023 Acura TLX sedan offers a roomy cabin for five passengers. The interior is modern, and there is no complaint about it so far. Rear legroom remains 34.9 inches, while trunk space is 13.5 cubic feet. Generally speaking, the space is average, and in the same class, the Honda Accord offers 16.7 cubic feet of volume.
Speaking of infotainment, the new sedan will probably keep the same twin-screen stacked infotainment displays. We also should expect a standard keyless entry with push-button start, leatherette upholstery, 12-way power-operated, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, moonroof, etc.
2023 Acura TLX Under the Hood
The new 2023 Acura TLX is the sedan that will be offered with two engine choices. The entry-level model will use a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. This engine is linked to a 10-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters for manual shifting.
On top of that, Acura TLX comes standard with front-wheel drive (FWD), while impressive Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) comes optional on all trims. The more potent engine is under the hood of the high-performance Type S model. This one uses a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 powertrain, producing 355 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. Like other Acura models, the new TLX will come with an engine start/stop system that cuts power at idle, such as stoplights. The manufacturer is aware that many customers don’t like this system, and they added a button to disabled it.
Release Date and Price
The debut of the second generation 2023 Acura TLX will happen next year, probably in the first half. As mentioned, the manufacturer will also introduce the Type S variant alongside the regular model simultaneously.
The luxury sport sedan will start at $37,500, while the Advance model should cost around $46,000. The TLX Type S is the most expensive model, starting at $53,100. Compared to some of the European rivals, the TLX is still below the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Alfa Romeo Giulia, as well as the Lexus IS.
