The premium-compact crossover 2023 Acura RDX has been spied testing with mid-cycle refreshments. This SUV is unique in its class, featuring a very compact design and attractive front fascia. On the other hand, the cabin is roomy, offering plenty of standard equipment.
This model is evolved into a very competitive model that can rival many luxurious SUVs in the segment. However, it still uses a sole engine consisting of a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged, delivering 272 horses and 280 lb-ft of torque. Generally speaking, this engine is more potent than any German equivalents.
What Will the 2023 Acura RDX Look Like?
Like the MDX model, the 2023 Acura RDX is mainly recognized for its floating roof. Moreover, compared to the previous generation, the upcoming SUV looks bolder, but it remains practical.
As we said, it seems that the front fascia is new, hosting a more attractive grille and somehow slimmer headlights. Also, you can enhance its design by choosing the A-Spec package. The front seats offers excellent support, while rear passengers won’t be complaining about legroom or headroom. This model comes with a generous cargo volume of 31.1 cubic feet behind the rear seats. Of course, it can be increase to almost 80.1 cubic feet when all seats are down.
2023 Acura RDX Engine Specs
Like before, the new 2023 Acura RDX will use the same solo engine. Moreover, the potent 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged unit is powering this SUV, delivering 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.
The engine comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission and front wheels in standard form. However, all four (AWD) with Acura’s Super Handling system is optionally. On top of that, the new model has a stop/start feature to save a little fuel while idling.
Unfortunately, towing capacity is 1,500 pounds, which is not so good. In the same class is the Lexus NX, offering better towing of 2,000 pounds. Besides this engine, another possibility is a new hybrid powertrain. Many believe that the new RDX could use the same system as the RLX flagship sedan. However, Acura is quiet on the matter.

The new 2023 Acura RDX testing mule has been spotted, featuring a revised front fascia. According to Acura, this SUV will be postponed for the next year as the 2023 model. That means the 2022 variant will probably be skipped.
The RDX is in the premium-compact crossover, that will try to attract more attention than the rivals such as the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Audi Q5, BMW X3, Jaguar F-Pace, Lexus NX, Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, and the Volvo XC60. The base model starts at $39,225, and it can go up to $50k with the Advance package and SH-AWD.
