Slotted just above the base Civic LX, the new Sport offers a few extra exterior accessories. It including more underbody trim, a decklid spoiler, and attractive black badges. Like the base LX trim, the Sport uses the same naturally aspirated 2.0-liter I4, producing 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque. This engine is powerful and is connected to a continuously variable transmission. Otherwise, the Sport Touring hatchback will be powered by a 1.5-liter turbo engine that can be had with either automatic or six-speed manual transmission.

The first impressions are positive, and we like every detail of the new 2022 Honda Civic Sport. Compared to other Civic models, the sports variant has a few exterior accessories from the Honda Performance Development catalog. This sedan is handsome, and it includes an attractive front fascia, decklid spoiler, and some black accents.
While base Civics rolls on 16-inch wheels, the Sport model comes with gloss black 18-inch alloys and 235/40-series all-season tires. Also, LED headlights and taillights are standard, and the Sport also features gloss-black mirror caps and a chrome exhaust tip.

Inside, the 2022 Honda Civic Sport looks super hot. We love the new Civic’s minimalist approach and great supportive seats. There’s a lot of space inside for five passengers, with a 14.8-cubic-foot trunk. Generally speaking, you don’t need to be concerned about cargo space.
Like the base LX and mid-range EX, the Civic Sport offers the same 7-inch color touchscreen system, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto is standard. However, if this is not enough for you, the Civic Touring comes with a larger 9-inch screen and Honda’s cool new 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster. The good news is the Sport doesn’t skimp on driver-assistance technologies. It still comes with lane-keeping assist, full-speed adaptive cruise control, and Honda’s Traffic Jam Assist.

Under the hood, the latest 2022 Honda Civic Sport uses the same powertrain as the base LX. It’s powered by Honda’s naturally aspirated 2.0-liter Inline four-engine, producing 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque.
As you can see, the engine is powerful, and it sends power through the continuously variable transmission. Interestingly, this engine is least-efficient and is estimated to return 30 mpg city, 37 mpg highway, and 33 mpg combined. However, EX and Touring sedans are not only more powerful, but they are also more efficient.
