2022 Honda Insight News, Redesign, Touring Trim Specs

The Honda Insight is one of the best sedans that you can found on the market. Interestingly, in a recent video conference, the manufacturer confirms that the redesigned 2022 Honda Insight will be even sportier, featuring a ton of the new techs.

From the information that we got, the new model will be introduced at the end of this year, while sales might start at the beginning of 2022. Besides more sporty styling, the forthcoming Insight will continue to use the same chassis as the best-selling Civic model. Like before, Insight’s main competitors are models such as Toyota Corolla Hybrid and the new Hyundai Elantra Hybrid.

2022 Honda Insight Refreshments

As we mentioned, the new 2022 Honda Insight is based on the Civic model, sharing the same platform. However, here’s some aesthetics that separates both models from each other. First of all, the new Insight has its own styling, but it still shares the same roof and rear panels as the Civic. Generally, everything else is Insight-specific, and that’s why Honda didn’t call this car the “Civic Hybrid.”

Overall, the design is attractive, and Insight features plenty of new touches, though, like the stylish grille, LED headlights/taillights, and 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. On the upper trims, buyers will get more benefits and more options to choose from. For example, Insight Touring includes dark-finish 17-inch alloy wheels and a chrome exterior accent package.

Interior Offers More Comfort

Inside, the latest 2022 Honda Insight will be modern, and the buyer can enjoy it in a comfortable, spacious cabin. Like the current model, the new one will keep the same layout. That means we should expect enough room for five occupants. Considering that this model is a hybrid only, the manufacturer didn’t sacrifice any space.

The battery pack is cleaver placed beneath the rear seats, keeping the car’s center of gravity low. Insight owners can enjoy a large infotainment display, upgraded audio system, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, blind-spot warning system, and rear cross-traffic alert. If you want better features, the Honda Insight Touring is the right choice. This trim includes a leather interior, heated seats, and onboard Wi-Fi, with many other goodies.

2022 Honda Insight Powertrain Specs

The new 2022 Honda Insight will most likely be powered by the same hybrid system as its predecessor. That means we will once again see the same 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and Atkinson cycle, which prioritizes efficiency over power.

The electric motor draws power from a lithium-ion battery, and the whole system makes 151 horsepower, which is acceptable for such a sedan. This energy flows to the front wheels through a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

How Much Does Will the New 2022 Honda Insight Cost?

The redesigned 2022 Honda Insight will be for sure introduced at the end of this year. However, we can expect its sales to start in the first quartal of 2022.

As we mentioned, this handsome sedan will gain more attractive styling and the same chassis as the best-selling Civic model. As for the price, we should expect some slight increase over the outgoing model. The current Honda Insight in base LX form starts at $22,930, while the Touring model costs slightly less than $30,000.

  1. I have been keeping up with honda insight design since 2018. I hope there is in the works some talks or redesign on the rear window where it can be wider so there will be less blindspot, especially when looking thru the rearview mirror.

  2. Just went from a Ford hatchback to a 2022 Insight and I will say Lee, the Honda rear window view is a huge step up. I don’t see how it could be made better without a wider form factor which I for one would not invite.
