Exciting news, the new 2022 Honda Fit is almost ready to be introduced to the public. This small hatchback is an excellent alternative if you’re looking for a small city and highway car. The current model debuted in late 2015, and until now, it didn’t receive any significant facelift.
This little fella, also marketed as a Honda Jazz, is recognized by its compact styling, featuring a sharp wedge, attractive grille, LED headlamps, scalloped doors, and rear door that slopes forward. Also, it comes with a proven 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that generates respectably 130 horsepower. Honda promised that the new model would bring many improvements, and it should be unveiled later this year.

From early reports, the upcoming 2022 Honda Fit will feature more attractive styling than its predecessor. Generally, the design of this hatchback has been more than chiseled and modern. Like the predecessor, we assume that the new one will be dimensionally the same, featuring an aging platform.
However, the same source reveals that the next Fit could gain some modifications on the front and back. That includes reshaped headlights, a revised grille, and a more sporty rooftop spoiler. The EX and EX-L models are more equipped than the standard one, and we should expect fog lights, alloy wheels, and extra chrome on the grille and liftgate.
Technology Suite
Inside, the new 2022 Honda Fit will be finally refreshed. This small hatchback comes with the same layout, offering more room than most people would think. Generally, it can accommodate taller people and lots of cargo. Thanks to the new and clever Magic Seat, the Honda fit splits 60/40 and folds in ways to let the owner carry larger items like a bicycle or even a surfboard. Overall, Fit also comes with plenty of soft-touch materials and with attractive silver-accent trim.
Apparently, the list of standard features is longer than before. Moreover, the new Fit includes a rearview camera, a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, cruise control, remote keyless entry, dual-zone air conditioning, 160-watt AM/FM/CD/MP3 sound system with a USB port. Leather-trimmed seats are available as well, but only on the EX-L trim.
2022 Honda Fit Engine Specs
Like the previous generation, the new one will probably use the same engine. However, many rumors indicate that we could also see some new powertrains or even hybrid ones. The current model uses a proven 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that generates respectably 130 horsepower.
Generally, this engine is perfectly suited for such a small car. It comes eider with the manual or automatic transmission. As for the efficiency, it will all depends on trim level. For example, EPA city/highway fuel economy is rated at 29/36 mpg for the (manual), 33/40 mpg (automatic LX), and 31/36 mpg for (automatic Sport, EX, and EX-L).
Release Date and Price
Honda claims that the new 2022 Honda Fit will arrive later this year, with plenty of improvements. Basically, because of that, we should expect slightly different pricing. The current base LX that comes with 6-speed manual transmission starts at $17,120, which includes the $930 destination charge.
However, if you want the CVT, you must pay an additional $800. Moving up, the Fit Sport costs $18,530, while the most expensive EX-L starts at $21,550. While prices are higher than those of many of its competitors, the Fit is in line with very competitive Toyota Yaris and Kia Rio.
