Like before, the Civic model will be available in form as sedan and hatchback. From what we heard, the Japanese carmaker is trimming down its compact and subcompact offerings for 2021. The reason is simple, Honda’s Civic Hatchback and HR-V are taking sales away.
2022 Honda Civic Exterior Styling
The forthcoming 2022 Honda Civic will include various cosmetic changes that will make it look more aggressive. The manufacturer did a great job up ahead with attractive LED headlights and grille, giving this model a more distinctive look. Also, the design of the C-shaped taillights is so unique, and it looks even great at night. As we mentioned, this model is available as sedan and hatchback.
The hatchback model deference over the sedan model with the bulbous rear end, high-mounted spoiler, and oversized fake vents on the rear bumper. 2022 Honda Civic Powertrain Options
The newest 2022 Honda Civic will most likely keep the whole line of engines as before. If that happens, the base model will use a 2.0-liter inline-4 engine that cranks out 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque. The next options can be found under the models like LX hatchback, EX, EX-L, and Touring sedan. This engine should consist of a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 delivering 174 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque.
The SI variant will also use the same 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine, but it will make 205 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. Lastly, Type R could use a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 that can deliver 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard on lower trims and is replaced by a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) on the higher ones. Every model uses a front-wheel drive, while Si and Type R are offering helical limited-slip differential, because of more power.
Release Date and Price
The latest 2022 Honda Civic has been confirmed and is arriving next year as 2022MY. From the newest manufacturer statement, the upcoming model will host plenty of improvements compared with the predecessor. Styling will be better and even we can expect a more spacious and techy cabin.
