After the great success with the current generation of Acura TLX, the manufacturer recently introduced a new PMC Edition. From Honda’s statement, the upcoming 2021 Acura TLX PMC Edition will come with more aggressive styling than the regular one TLX, and it will add plenty of sports accents. This includes the same paint job Valencia Red from the NSX supercar and more luxury features.
Generally, the PMC Edition is the top-of-the-line model that is wearing a great A-Spec dress and Advanced Packages.
Is the New 2021 Acura TLX PMC Edition Better Than the Regular TLX?
The new 2021 Acura TLX PMC Edition references the same body design as the regular model. However, along with the heretofore-NSX-exclusive red paint, the PMC Edition also adopts severe updates. This model comes with a new distinguishable black-painted 19-inch wheels and a more aggressive face.
The same styling we saw on the 2020 Acura MDX SUV PMC Edition. Generally, similar treatment is used on both models, making them more recognized. Aggressive body styling is looking great and is dressed in bold Valencia Red Pearl. Also, like the MDX model, the new TLX features the same striking glossy black roof giving this sedan a very sporty design. Besides that, a numbered plaque also helps PMC Edition apart from the rest models in the same segment.
Interior Looks Sporty
The interior of the upcoming 2021 Acura TLX PMC Edition sedan provides a sporty stance never seen before on any TLX models. The comfort of the interior is equally with the regular model. Stepping inside, we have first noticed a chunky steering wheel and plenty of red accents. Front seats are comfortable with red stitching and nicely bolstered suede inserts.
Like the regular TLX, the special edition host the same aging displays. Notably, two center screens are stacked atop one another. The lower display is only to navigate audio and climate-control functions. However, with the upper one, customers can browse the map or Android Auto or Apple CarPlay interface.
2021 Acura TLX PMC Edition Under the Hood
Like the regular model, the new 2021 Acura TLX PMC Edition will use the same engine option. This sedan will be powered by the RDX’s 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder that is capable of producing 280 horsepower.
If you didn’t know, this engine also powers high-performance model Honda Civic Type R. Acura’s 10-speed automatic transmission will be used, and it’s a massive improvement over the aging ZF nine-speed automatic transmission. The next engine is optional and it consists of 3.5-liter V-6 that makes 290 horses. Also, this engine comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission and it uses a Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive system.
Release Date and Price
Form what we heard, the upcoming Acura TLX PMC Edition will arrive later this year. The new model is wearing more aggressive styling than the regular one. However, it is using the same powertrains as the standard one.
Interrestlly, Acura TLX PMC 5-passenger 4-door sedan with the standard equipment will start at $50,000, which is $15,000 more than the regular model.
