The brand-new 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid will be available for the customers in the States from March 1st. The hybrid version of the compact crossover SUV will include a similar electrified unit as the Accord Hybrid. The starting price of the base LX model is $28,870, with a $1,120 destination fee included.
On the other hand, the range-topping version, the Touring will cost around $37,000. The CR-V Hybrid will be Honda’s first-ever hybrid-electric SUV built in the States, and it will introduce a new safety feature, known as Safety Zone. This feature was crash-tested with the 10th generation of the Civic Coupe, which is one of ten Honda’s models with a 5-star Overall Vehicle Score rating from NTHSA.
2020 CR-V Hybrid Engine
Under the hood of the US-Built CR-V Hybrid will be a combination of a 2.0-liter Atkinson petrol unit and two electric motors. This combination produces a peak output of 212 hp, while the EPA fuel rating is 40/35/38 mpg. The standard setup will be an all-wheel drive.
Therefore, the Hybrid version will be the most fuel-efficient CR-V so far. Also, the upcoming model will offer three driving modes: EV Drive, Hybrid Drive, and Engine Drive. When the vehicle is left on its own devices, the hybrid automatically decides which mode will suit best to the current conditions, with no input from the driver.
Styling
As for the exterior design, the 2020 CR-V Hybrid will bring a slightly different layout from the rest of the Honda’s roster. The brand-new model features an hybrid-unique 5-lamp LED fog lights, and exclusive rear bumper design, besides the typical “Hybrid” badging. All CR-V Hybrid trims will include a more prominent chrome grille, as well as the wider openings for the fog lights.
Also, you’ll notice dark-tinted taillights and a dark-chrome treatment for the garnish underneath the rear glass. 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid will be available in four trim levels: the base LX, EX, EX-L, and Touring. The MSRP of the entry-level CR-V Hybrid is $28,870 ( the destination charge is in the price ).
Next, we got the EX model, which will cost $30.260. Furthermore, the hybrid version of EX-L comes with a price sticker of $32,750. Lastly, the most expensive model is Touring. The range-topping crossover starts at $35,950.
Same as with the base model, the destination charge is included in the price of every trim. Lastly, as we mentioned in the introduction, this model arrives in the dealerships across the States on Sunday, March 1st.
