Honda always has a little bit different approach when it comes to pickups. For a very long, time it’s been practicing a design philosophy that includes a unibody platform, which brings various benefits regarding ride quality and overall refinement. However, The Ridgeline is no longer the lone case, as the new segment of smaller unibody pickups has been established recently, with models like Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz. That’s why many expect some updates in the near future. Some sources talk about the redesign, while others speculate about the 2024 Honda Ridgeline Type R.
The latter seems more likely to us, as the current generation will probably remain in production for several more years. In this case, we would see several upgrades, starting from a more powerful engine, suspension upgrades, as well as various visual modifications.

The 2024 Honda Ridgeline Type R would come with several more upgrades, other than the engine. One of the things that come to mind is mechanical upgrades. For example, we could see an upgraded, stiffer suspension, which would reduce body roll and bring the truck closer to the ground. Along with the sporty suspension, we could also see bigger brakes, as well as other chassis upgrades.
Of course, we could also see some visual modifications. We presume that the Japanese manufacturer would offer some new details that accentuate the truck’s performance nature. For example, we could see things like new wheels with lower-profile tires, more aggressive bumpers, a new grille and similar things. A new exhaust system is another thing that comes to mind, along with the rear diffuser.
Interior
Some interior upgrades are possible too, starting from the Type R’s traditional red color schemes. We already mentioned the possible paddle shifters, while there’s also a chance to see Honda’s excellent sports seats. Furthermore, we could see some specific materials on the dashboard, center console, doors etc. Still, the overall cabin layout shouldn’t be drastically different compared to the standard model, especially in terms of seating configuration.
So, the 2024 Ridgeline Type R would also come in a crew cab layout, with two spacious rows of seats and the ability to accommodate five adult passengers. The cabin should come with a long list of standard equipment, including all kinds of tech and convenience features.
2024 Honda Ridgeline Type R Release Date and Price
The 2024 Honda Ridgeline Type R is just a rumor for now but if we can trust those rumors, it could arrive already in the second half of the next year. The base model currently starts at around 40.000 dollars, so we presume that the Type R would easily go over $50.000.
