The redesigned 2024 Honda Passport has been spied testing recently, and we can expect the new SUV to go on sale in fall of 2023. The spotted prototype wearing limited camouflage on both ends, which indicating where the changes will be made. In general, we don’t expect significant upgrades compared to its predecessor but mid-life facelift is expected.
As we can see at the first glance, the new SUV will come with rugged design, which is inspired by the Ridgeline pickup truck. Under the hood, the Passport will probably deploy the same 3.5-liter V6 that is capable of making 280 hp and 262 lb-ft (355 Nm) of torque.
2024 Honda Passport Redesign
On the cosmetic side, the 2024 Honda Passport will receive some mild changes on the both ends. As we said, the prototype of the forthcoming SUV has been spied testing, and it wears limited camouflage. If we look through the camouflage, the Passport features all-new grille with a mesh design similar to what we saw on the Ridgeline model.
Other visible changes include a new front bumper that is chunkier than before and has re-designed turn signals and fog lights. The rear end is also redesigned, and it comes with a new bumper and larger, circular tailpipes.
Interior Upgrades
Beside exterior, we also expect to see some refreshments inside the 2024 Honda Passport. This SUV was last time updated for the 2021 model year, and the manufacturer added some new technology features. They basically added more quality materials and old 5-inch display has been replaced with a larger 8-inch infotainment system.
As many of Honda models, the Passport comes standard with Honda Sensing suite of driver assistance tech. It features automatic emergency braking with forward collision warning, lane-keep assist, road departure mitigation, and adaptive cruise control.
2024 Honda Passport Engine Specs
The sole engine is powering the new 2024 Honda Passport. As model before, the new one deploys the same proven 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 280 horsepower. In case you didn’t know, the same engine is powering the Honda Ridgeline pickup. This engine offers reliability and great balance of power and efficiency.
A 9-speed automatic transmission comes standard as well as FWD system. All-wheel drive is optional. It is also worth mentioning that the Passport has ability to maximum tow up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped. In general, that’s enough room to tow a small camper or a couple of ATVs.
2024 Honda Passport Price, Release Date
The new 2024 Honda Passport will receive some refreshments for the next year. Considering that, we expect the new model to cost slightly higher than before. The current FWD EX-L model, starts at $37,870, while an EX-L with AWD is $39,970.
We recommended to step up to the TrailSport model, which begins at $42,470. The most expensive is the Elite version that costs $45,430. As you can see, the price of the Honda Passport is a little high for this class, considering that models like the Hyundai Santa Fe and Volkswagen Atlas have lower starting prices.
