2024 Honda Jazz Refresh: What to Expect

Also known as Fit in many markets, the 2024 Honda Jazz is expected to receive an update. Those are the latest reports we are getting about Honda’s B-segment car. The current generation was introduced in 2020 and it turned out to be pretty successful. It is a great small hatchback with a lot of strong points but the Japanese manufacturer wants to retain its current position in the market. Therefore, some updates are expected for the next year.

So far, the company confirmed an update for the Japanese domestic market, where this model comes as Honda Fit. However, we are pretty sure that the same changes will happen in other markets, including Europe. There, we expect to see some visual updates, while some sources speculate about powertrain upgrades as well.

In any case, we expect that the 2024 Honda Jazz will hit the market sometime in the second half of 2023.

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Honda Jazz is expected to receive an update. At this point, the officials are still quiet about details but if we consider that the current generation is still quite fresh, we may presume that the changes will be rather subtle. Some tweaks are possible to the front, where we could see revisions to headlights, grille etc. On the other hand, the overall look will remain largely the same, while there is also a chance to see things like new color options, new wheels etc.

On the other hand, the mechanical part of the vehicle shouldn’t feature any notable change. We count on the same overall layout, with a relatively simple suspension setup that provides decent ride quality in a combination with components longevity. The brakes are also pretty good, which makes this hatchback quite engaging to drive.

Interior

Unlike the exterior, the cabin probably won’t feature too many changes. We expect to see the same cabin layout, which looks nice and has a lot to offer. The materials are decent, as well as the build quality. On the other hand, the sound insulation could be better, so that could be one of the upgrades for the next year. The dashboard looks attractive and it is highlighted by a couple of screens –  a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, along with a 9-inch touchscreen for the infotainment.

Despite the small dimensions, the Jazz feature a spacious and comfortable cabin, with a lot of smart solutions that make is practical and easy to live with. The driver’s seat offers a great position, especially in terms of ergonomics, while the outward visibility is also pretty decent.

Honda Jazz RS

The officials already announced a performance-oriented version for the domestic market. It will come with the RS badge and many believe that the same variant could be offered in Europe as well. The 2024 Honda Jazz RS would come with all kinds of upgrades, such as a new mesh grille, redesigned bumper with significantly larger intakes, red RS badges, deeper side sills, larger alloy wheels, and a rear spoiler. On the other hand, we still don’t know anything about the possible chassis and suspension upgrades.

On the inside, this particular version would bring a couple of notable changes, such as stitching on the leather steering wheel, a new “deceleration selector” in the form of paddles for controlling regenerative braking, and a new drive mode selector.

2024 Honda Jazz Powertrain

We presume that the European version will continue with the same powertrain, though some sources speculate about the possibility see a power increase. In any case, we count on the same setup, which combines a 1.5-liter Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with a  pretty capable 109-hp electric motor.

The system works pretty well and we particularly like city driving, where the wheels are mostly powered by an electric motor. In that regime, the gasoline engine works as a generator, while power gets to the front wheels only when you’re heavy on the throttle pedal.

The combined output goes around 109 horsepower and 253Nm of torque, which is enough for decent driving dynamics. At the same time, the average fuel economy goes around 4-4.5L/100km, which is very good for the segment.

The hybrid powertrain is also available in Japan, though base models on this market feature a small 1.3-liter inline-four with 98 horsepower and 119 pound-feet of torque. In China, this small hatchback comes with a bigger and more capable 1.5-liter inline-four with 130 horsepower.

All units come coupled with a CVT.

2024 Honda Jazz Release Date

Considering the possible updates, we presume that the 2024 Honda Jazz could arrive a little bit earlier than usual. However, we don’t expect to see it before the second half of 2023.
