2022 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid: What Can We Expect?

Honda has recently updated the class-unique Ridgeline pickup truck. However, as the report claims, the new 2022 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid is also in the works. This model should receive a totally reworked front fascia, sporting bolder, more truck-like styling cues.

Honda also upgraded the model’s cabin, and the Hybrid model should introduce a few additional upgrades compared to the regular version. The Hybrid model is the most fuel-efficient option, thanks to the brand’s two-motor setup used in the CR-V Hybrid. All models, including the hybrid one, should arrive later this year.

2022 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid Design

The new unibody 2022 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid sports a beautiful design. Generally, as the base model, the hybrid one features an identical truck-like appearance. All versions come with a fully reworked front fascia, resulting in a bolder grille compared to the previous Pilot SUV-like version.

For 2022, Honda used more modern LED headlights and re-sculpted front fender flares. On the side, we can see that the manufacturer still keeps the attractive 18-inch wheels. At the rear, the design is nearly identical to the current with the new twin-exhaust setup. Besides, the hybrid model should also get appropriate badging on the back and side.

Cabin Layout

Unlike the regular model, the new 2022 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid will be more modern. Generally, this pickup truck offers an SUV-like cabin with several upgrades as part of the mid-cycle refresh. Honda introduced Ridgeline with refresh styling, and most importantly, they improved graphics on its 8-inch touchscreen.

If the 2022 Honda Ridgeline Hybrid report turns out to be true, this truck version will receive new trim inserts and new gauge cluster features. However, upper grades will add more premium touches, including leather upholstery, premium sound system, navigation, blind-spot monitoring, and so on.

Safety

Like the outgoing model, the forthcoming one will feature a full suite of active safety systems. Basically, buyers can expect standard forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assistance.

2022 Honda Ridgeline Powertrain Specs

The new 2022 Honda Ridgeline will debut with a reliable 3.5-liter V-6 engine. The direct-injected engine can generate a 280 hp and torque of 262 lb-ft. This engine is paired with a smooth 9-speed automatic transmission and goes standard with front- and torque-vectoring. The all-wheel-drive configuration is still optional.

The Hybrid variant should adopt the brand’s two-motor hybrid setup that can also be found under the Accord sedan and CR-V hybrid. The engine consists of a 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle four-cylinder engine combined with a two-motor setup. Thanks to that, the Hybrid model delivers 212 hp and 47 mpg EPA ratings. Unlike the base engine, this one should use a wheel drive system as standard.

  1. Why is it Ford can make a Hybrid that costs less than a petro-powered unit, but Honda needs a 14% increase to make a Hybrid vehicle. Price has always depressed Ridgeline sales, guess there’s no reason to change horses in mid-stream. At the price charged, Honda makes a profit on the Ridgeline. Who cares about market share.
