The new facelifted mid-size sedan 2022 Honda Accord is arriving. If you didn’t know, Honda Accord is one of the models with the longest history for Honda. It’s rated very high in the premium segment, and it competes with world-famous brands such as the Volkswagen Passat, Audi A4, and others.
Besides compact and stylish design, this sedan also offers great performances. Under the hood, Honda Accord offers two engine options. The first choice is a 1.5-liter turbocharged, while a more potent 2.0-liter turbocharged is being provided as optional. However, we are unsure if Honda might introduce some new engines, but we heard that the next Accord could be a carryover model.
2022 Honda Accord First Look
The manufacturer gimmicks make the 2022 Honda Accord more competitive. This model was spied recently and is wearing a heavy camo. However, through the skin, we managed to see plenty of improvements. The first spy photos reveal that Honda’s Accord every year looks more similar to its smaller Civic and Insight siblings.
The design looks more sporty yet still retains some of the traditional lines. Accord Sport is also available, and it features slightly more chrome and a decklid spoiler. We also like the new active grille shutters providing more better aerodynamics.
Cabin Offers More Luxury Inside
Like before, the cabin of the 2022 Honda Accord should remain stylish with plenty of techs. This five-passenger sedan offers a roomy interior, providing great rear-seat legroom. Moreover, the same tradition will continue, and the new model is featuring a 7-inch screen in base models. However, buyers will get a high-res 8-inch touch screen and more features going up to higher trims.
Accord is available in five trims, including LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring. LX entry model comes with a long list of techs, including dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, 4-speaker audio system, a multi-angle rearview camera, and more. If your budget allows, the recommend trim is an Accord Sport. This model adds an 8-inch touch-screen display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone integration, 12-way-power driver’s seat, a premium 8-speaker audio system, and 60/40-split/folding rear seats.
2022 Honda Accord Powertrain Specs
We think that the 2022 Honda Accord will probably be a carryover model. That means we could see the same powertrains as before. If you forgot, this model is available with two engine variants. The first engine is a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4, and it powers models LX, Sport, EX, EX-L. Generally, with this unit, Accord provides excellent performance. It delivers 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. This unit uses CVT automatic transmission as standard, with a 6-speed manual offered on the Sport trim.
The second engine comes optional on the Sport and EX-L and standard on the Touring. It consists of a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine pumping out a robust 252 horsepower. Unlike the first powertrain, the more potent engine uses a 10-speed automatic, and 6-speed manual on the Sport trim. However, a hybrid model is also rumored, and we are expecting more news about it soon.
Release Date and Price
The famous Honda Accord will finally get some important updates. Honda stated that the next-gen model would be introduced sometime next year, probably in the summertime. However, price is still a mystery, but we think it could not be significantly different from the current one.
