2022 Honda City Release Delayed Until May

Reportedly, the new 2022 Honda City is coming. According to the Japanese media news the latest version of City will be introduced in May or June, featuring many improvements over the current one. Generally, from what we heard, the manufacturer will, alongside the standard model, also introduce hybrid and high-performance RS versions.

Until now, Honda revealed that the hybrid model would use the same system as the Jazz model. That means Honda City will most likely be powered by a 1.5 liter, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that works with two electric motors. Here’s everything that we know about this upcoming sedan.

2022 Honda City Design Changes

Like the famous Civic sedan, the new 2022 Honda City has managed to hold on to its small car charms. This model looks handsome and is very compact. Generally, it shares many of the cues with the Civic model. Looking at this sedan, you’ll release that it has an almost identical front and rear end. It features attractive new full-LED headlights that are overshadowed by the big chrome nose on the grille.

The hood is also eye-catchy but not sporty as the Civic model. On the side profile, this car reveals a new attractive 16-inch alloy wheel with a much better graphic than the outgoing model. Overall, the back is also fresh, featuring sleek LED taillights and the bumper in the same color as the car.

It provides enough room for five passengers with decent cargo capacity. In terms of technology, the latest Honda City comes with a next-Gen Honda Connect and Alexa compatibility. It also features a new 8.0-inch touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

On top of that, Honda added a more advanced 7.0-inch multicolor TFT instrument cluster, providing all-important information in front of the driver.

2022 Honda City Powertrain Specs

The latest 2022 Honda City is the sedan that will most likely offer three different engines. The manufacturer will introduce a standard model, high-performance RS, and the most efficient hybrid variant. Unfortunately, Honda keeps all figures secret, but we managed to draw out some information about the upcoming hybrid version. Firstly, the hybrid model will most likely use the same system as we saw on the recently introduced Honda Jazz hybrid model.

This car uses a 1.5 liter, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine and two electric motors. The gasoline unit produces around 100 hp, while electric motors are able to generate 108 hp. The one electric motor is coupled to the petrol engine and work as Integrated Starter Generator. On the other hand, the other one will deliver power to the front wheels via a single, fixed-ratio gearbox.
