The all-new 2022 Acura Integra aka Honda Integra prototype, has been spied recently testing on the public road. However, there is little news about this model at this point, but we are glad that the manufacturer decides to bring back this famous car.
Back in the 80s, this model was trendy and is marketed in North America as the Acura Integra. If you didn’t know, the first-ever model was being released in 1986, and its sales suddenly ended in 2006. Generally speaking, we heard plenty of rumors about its comeback all these years, but every time without any evidence. Unfortunately, the person that posted two images on Instagram doesn’t provide much information to help solve the mystery about two spy shots.
2022 Acura Integra First Look
Just looking at the first spy shots, we release that the new 2022 Acura Integra is featuring a recognized traditional design. Generally speaking, it’s not hard to notice many cues from the third-generation Integra. The slim headlights are still present and also a familiar sloping hood styling.
The image from the rear also evokes the classic coupe styling, thanks to the rear glass shape and narrow LED taillights. Also, like the Civic Si, the spied Integra prototype also features the same center-exit trapezoidal exhaust, resulting in more attractive behind.
There is no clue at this moment regarding the cabin of the new 2022 Acura Integra. Actually, many rumors indicate that it will gain a similar cabin as the latest Honda Insight model. This model offers a very modern and spacious cabin that can fit passengers comfortably. However, the Acura Integra from the latest spy shots has only two-seats.
The Insight comes with an 8.0-inch screen as optional, and we think that the same screen will be available on the Honda Integra. Besides, we should also expect many standard features like SiriusXM satellite radio, Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto smartphone integration, and built-in navigation. As you probably know, all Honda models come standard with a great package of driver assists called Honda Sensing. This package includes Blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, automated emergency braking, cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.
2022 Acura Integra Engine Specs
Under the hood, the forthcoming 2022 Honda Integra will most likely use some of the existing engines. However, more than likely, it will borrow the same engines from the latest 2022 Honda Civic. Moreover, the new Civic is available with a choice of two engines. The base one is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder capable of producing 158 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 138 lb-ft of torque at 4,200 rpm.
Alongside this engine, the manufacturer also offers a powerful turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder. This engine produces 180 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a substantial 177 lb-ft of torque from 1,700 to 4,500 rpm. Both engines should use a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).
Release Date, Price
There’s no information at this point when we can expect the newest 2022 Acura Integra to debut. However, many believe that it will arrive next year, most likely in the first quartal. As for the price, this coupe might starts at around $22,000 for the base model.
