The famous Japanese company Honda has recently registered a new model name ZR-V. From what we heard, the all-new crossover will be called 2021 Honda ZR-V and it should be in the same segment as the models like HR-V and CR-V. With the HR-V reportedly not coming to India, we can expect a new premium ZR-V SUV to replace it.
There is still some missing information, but we are managed to get some of the renderings. At first glance, the premium mid-size crossover looks funky thanks to modern appeal and the aggressive character lines. The competition has grown and the upcoming ZR-V will probably try to get the throne over the famous Hyundai Creta model.
2021 Honda ZR-V Renderings
The first renderings of 2021 Honda ZR-V are available and we can see many similarities with other Honda models. Generally, the ZR-V is wearing the same recognized design language that we saw recently introduced Honda Pilot.
The digital rendering model shows the presence of a bold front fascia and attractive chrome horizontal front grille. Also, there are plenty of sharp design elements and the manufacturer used blacked-out headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights. On top of that, the bumper comes in body color with a sporty fog lamp cluster and round-shaped cornering lamps. We love the new blue body color that is complemented by the contrast orange painted roofline and black finished pillars. The aggressive crossover character is attractive thanks to black wheel arches and multi-spoke alloy wheels.
On the back, this model features dynamic lines. It boasts a boomerang-styled LED tail lamps, integrated rear spoiler, Honda badge positioned at the edge of the tailgate, and mighty dual exhaust system on both ends.
Interior Rumors
There is no much information regarding the cabin of 2021 Honda ZR-V. From what we heard, the cabin should be modern and premium. Unlike the Pilot model that comes with three rows of seats, the new model will provide only two.
This means that there will be room inside for five occupants. However, plenty of elements from Pilot could be borrowed. For example, a 5-inch display, Bluetooth hands-free calling and music streaming capability air conditioning, cruise control, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel, push-button engine starting, and power windows, mirrors, and locks. Of course, we should expect Honda Sensing to be part of standard equipment.
2021 Honda ZR-V Powertrain Details
From many gossips, the upcoming 2021 Honda ZR-V might use the same powertrains as Honda Pilot. As you probably know, the Honda Pilot is available with two engine options.
The first powertrain is a 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes with a six-speed automatic transmission. The next offer is the same powertrain but with 9-speed automatic paddle shifters and quirky push-button controls.
Release Date and Price
The rendered 2021 Honda ZR-V looks quite stunning. This model will emerging markets like India and Japan next year. However, right now, we don’t have information will this model reach other shores.
Like the Honda Passport and Honda Pilot, the new model features an angular front fascia with a noticeably attractive floating roofline. As you can see, the new design language is present and ZR-V looks modern. There is still some missing information, and we cannot wait to see how this model will perform against other models in the same class.
