The manufacturer just revealed the next-gen 2021 Honda Civic Hatchback pricing. According to new figures, the forthcoming model will get a slight price increase for 2021.
Interestingly, we also got information that both models hatchback and sedan will be discounted for this year due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Honda dealers across the globe will begin receiving the 2021 Civic Hatchback in September, while sales could start in January. The base model should start at $22,000 before a $955 destination charge.
2021 Honda Civic Hatchback Comes With Stunning Design
The exterior styling of the 2021 Honda Civic Hatchback will mostly remain unchanged. Moreover, some small visual changes are happening. The new C-shaped taillights are present and they look so distinctive. Basically, the overall styling is bolder, and the hatchback model is differentiated from the sedan in many things.
For example, it features a bulbous rear end, high-mounted spoiler, and fake vents on the rear bumper. However, Sport and Sport Touring hatchbacks cosmetic treatment is more aggressive with a dual exhaust outlet. Si and the Type R models are separated from the rest of the trims by a hood scoop, three exhaust pipes, and a massive rear spoiler.
Luxury and Elegance Cabin
Besides its small dimensions, the new compact 2021 Honda Civic Hatchback is very roomy on the inside. This model features almost identical styling as the sedan model. That means hatchback is providing almost the same comfort and equipment. Generally, the cabin houses plenty of quality soft-touch materials.
For sure, interior is among the best in the compact-car class. The Civic hatchback provides 25.7 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 46.2 cubic feet when they’re folded down. The base model features Honda Sensing driver aids, automatic climate control, folding rear seat, a 5-inch infotainment display, Bluetooth phone/audio, USB port, and a 4-speaker sound system. However, the most luxurious is the Touring trim. This model adds 4-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, heated rear outboard seat, navigation, and a 10-speaker/450-watt audio system.
2021 Honda Civic Hatchback Powertrain Specs
As the whole line of Civic models, the new 2021 Honda Civic Hatchback will be available by the same engine. Under the hood is a proven turbo 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 174 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is connected to the engine, unfortunately, as the only configuration available.
According to Honda, the advanced and much better CVT will come standard with LX and EX models. Generally, thanks to CVT, this model delivers 31 mpg in the city, 40 mpg on the highway, and 34 mpg in a combined economy. Selecting the six-speed transmission that comes standard on trims Sport and Sport Touring models reduce figures to 29, 37, and 32, respectively.
Sales and Price
Due to the Covid-19 virus, the release date of the new Honda Civic Hatchback will happen next year. Most likely that hatchback and sedan models will start sales in January 2021.
As we mentioned at the beginning, the manufacturer revealed that the base model would start at $22,000 before a $955 destination charge. If you remember, the 2020 model started at $21,650 without a $930 destination charge.
