After the debut of Acura TLX in May and its great sales, the redesigned version could be released next year. The new 2022 Acura TLX will be better than the previous one, and it will feature a more sporty shape. The forthcoming model will also get stiffer chassis, mechanical improvements, and Type S performance options from early reports.
Base TLX sedan will feature more standard features, and it will draw power from a 2.0-liter turbo-4 that makes 272 hp and 280 lb-ft. Compared to the previous model, this is up 66 hp and 100 lb-ft.
2022 Acura TLX Exterior
The new 2022 Acura TLX is one of the best-looking sedans on the market. This model is ranked below the popular Honda Civic sedan. From many speculations, we can expect many improvements in the new TLX. Overall, the design will be refreshed and it will host a more attractive diamond-patterned grille and the same high decklid spoiler above broad taillights.
Unlike the base model that uses one exhaust port, Type S comes with many sporty quad exhaust tips. Also, TLX will feature a new stiffer chassis, adaptive dampers, variable-ratio steering, and the same NSX electro-servo brake-by-wire system. The buyers can found new 20-inch wheels or lightweight NSX-style wheels wrapped in summer tires on Type S versions as the four-piston front Brembo brakes.
Interior Upgrades
This model offers a very spacious cabin that can be modified with plenty of optional amenities. For example, choosing an A-Spec and Type S trims, buyers will get leather seats, a 10.2-inch infotainment display, a 7.0-inch digital information cluster, and an optional head-up display.
By the way, in standard form, TLX includes keyless entry with push-button start, leatherette upholstery, 12-way power-operated, and heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, moonroof, and more.
2022 Acura TLX Engine Specs
The new 2022 Acura TLX sedan will draw power from a potent 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine. This engine will get some mechanical improvements from the information that we got, and we can expect at least 272 hp and 280 lb-ft. Compared to the predecessor, this is around 66 hp and 100 lb-ft more. Base models will also use the same smooth 10-speed automatic transmission.
Type S is also available, and it will be powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6 that will make an estimated 355 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. Like the base model, the Type S will use the same 10-speed automatic transmission. However, this model will come standard with all four wheels via an updated all-wheel-drive system with torque vectoring.
Price and Release Date
The new 2022 Honda TLX will cost you less than $39,000, including the destination charge. As you can see, the price is increased by $4,500, compared to the predecessor. The starting price is for the front-wheel-drive model while adding an all-wheel-drive should cost you an additional $2,000. Acura revealed that the redesigned version would arrive at the end of the next year.
