One of the best family sedan Honda Accord will finally get some updates and a more economical hybrid system. The next-gen model called 2021 Honda Accord Hybrid is announced, and we can expect it to arrive at some point next year.
According to the manufacturer, Accord will offer more amenities and a spacious interior that can host five passengers comfortably. Besides a more economical engine, the manufacturer will also offer two turbocharged four-cylinder powertrains.
2021 Honda Accord Hybrid Styling
The facelifted version 2021 Honda Accord Hybrid will not differ from the base model in terms of design. Both models are stylish and will receive a light styling refresh for 2021. Generally, Accord is a handsome sedan that is very familiar thanks to its design. From the first available photos, the forthcoming model will get a more tweaked grille design.
The bold front end will also feature powerful LED low beam headlights with auto on/off and finally LED fog lights. On the back, some small refreshments will happen, including taller taillights and a new chrome exhaust system. Also, Accord will offer this time one new color, Sonic Gray Pearl.
The 2021 Honda Accord Hybrid interior will also include some modifications. As before, the cabin is surprisingly spacious, and rear-seat passengers will enjoy ample legroom and headroom. The Accord’s 17 cubic feet of cargo space beat almost every contender in the class. We must also mention that Hybrid doesn’t lose any cargo space, considering that it comes with electric-powertrain components. Moreover, cargo should provide basic needs for most of the drivers.
All models, including the Hybrid one, will come standard with new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment, Bluetooth, and Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto capability. However, if this is not enough for you, the top Touring trim offers more amenities. This trim features heated and cooled leather front seats, heated rear seats, and a head-up display.
2021 Honda Accord Powertrain Specs
As we mentioned, the 2021 Honda Accord is a sedan that will be powered by three engine options. The first 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 is available on the models (LX, Sport, EX, EX-L) and can deliver 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. The most favorite engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that sits atop the engine pyramid, producing 252-hp. This powertrain is available on the models (EX-L, Sport, Touring), and it uses a 10-speed automatic, providing smooth shifting. Sadly, the Accord is no longer available with the six-speed manual transmission as the Civic model.
As for the hybrid model, this unit will consist of a four-cylinder engine and two innovative electric motors delivering a fantastic output of 212 horses. According to the manufacturer, the system will be improved, expecting even better consumption than before. The current model with the same powertrain is EPA rated 48 mpg in the city and highway.
