2023 Honda CR-V Special Edition Release Date, Price, and Engine Specs

2023 Honda CR-V Special Edition front

The new 2023 Honda CR-V Special Edition will be reportedly released later in the year, featuring some changes and upgrades compared to the original version. As far as we know, the new trim will slots between the current LX and EX trim levels. Unfortunately, it will not receive the hybrid powertrains as is offered with the CR-V EX, EX-L, and Touring models. In general, the Special Edition as the latest offering will only bring some small exterior upgrades and more technologies inside.

Like the original CR-V, the Special Edition trim will use the same 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine putting out 190 horsepower or 142 kilowatts.

2023 Honda CR-V Special Edition Design

On the cosmetics side, the 2023 Honda CR-V Special Edition will be almost identical to the original CR-V. If you didn’t know, this isn’t the first time the Japanese automaker has released a Special Edition trim. The models like Pilot and Accord have previously received the same treatment as well.

Models that wear the Special Edition badge are featuring more attractive styling including better headlights, revised grille, 17-inch black alloy wheels, and more. In terms of size, the upcoming CR-V Special Edition is right in line with most of its rivals in the segment. In general, the dimensions are identical to the models such as the Toyota RAV4, Chevy Equinox, and Ford Escape. The Special Edition also has a 7.8-inch ground clearance, which is enough to traverse most snowy roads easily.

Comfortable Interior

Inside, the Honda CR-V Special Edition will be modern and comfortable. The seating layout should not significantly depart from the original one, but we’re expecting to see at least more supportive seats. Actually, the latest offering will bring some of the newer tech.

As far as we know, the manufacturer will offer the Special Edition with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a large 7.0-inch touchscreen, remote start, push-button start, and heated mirrors. Also, it will include as a standard amazing stereo system with six-speakers and Honda Sensing safety tech suite. The suit itself comes with automatic emergency braking, road departure mitigation, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control.

2023 Honda CR-V Special Edition Engine

Unlike CR-V EX, EX-L, and Touring models, the Special Edition won’t be available with the hybrid powertrain. Instead, the new 2023 Honda CR-V Special Edition trim will feature a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that’s capable of producing 190 horsepower (142 kilowatts).

We’re also expecting it to send power through a continuously variable automatic transmission using front wheel drive. Of course, you can still upgrade to AWD as an option.

2023 Honda CR-V Special Edition Release Date, Price

The upcoming 2023 Honda CR-V Special Edition will arrive later in the year, with more technology than we thought. As we mentioned, the Special Edition slots between the current LX and EX trim levels, offering a great package of equipment for invested money.

Next to the base LX trim that starts at $26,525, pricing for the new CR-V Special Edition should be around $27,725 for the front-wheel-drive model. However, going for an all-wheel drive, the price will be increased to $29,195. As you can see, the Special Edition gives you premium upgrades for a great value.
