2023 Honda Breeze Redesign, PHEV Specs, Release Date, and Price

The 2023 Honda Breeze is an upcoming SUV that will be powered by a new hybrid system. As far as we know, Honda’s first plug-in hybrid model in China will bring many novelties, starting with a much better look and a very comfy interior.

Probably the most exciting news is that it will use a new PHEV system that should lure more audience. The Honda Breeze will come later this year in Shanghai, while sales could start soon after. Besides this model, Japanese automaker plans to introduce a few EV models within five years.

2023 Honda Breeze Facelift

Design-wise, the 2023 Honda Breeze PHEV doesn’t differ too much from the regular petrol and hybrid. Actually, this SUV is based on the CR-V model, and both are sharing many elements. However, considering that Breeze is a plug-in hybrid model, it should come with a modified platform that can handle large batteries. Aside from that, the Honda Breeze looks handsome, and it dominates with an attractive grille and headlights.

The front fascia is similar as on the Accord sedan, while both the headlights and LED taillights feature a sharper design than the ones on the CR-V. Unlike the basic model, the PHEV one comes with a charging port on the right of the body and blue-tinged Honda logo. Dimensionally, the Breeze measures 182.4 inches X 73 inches X 66.1 inches, with a wheelbase of 104.7 inches.

Cabin Appearance and Layout

On the inside, the 2023 Honda Breeze looks technology rich, just as its sibling CR-V model does. Both SUVs come with a very roomy interior, offering excellent comfort for all passengers.

Inside, the Breeze features the same dashboard design as the CR-V. It also comes as standard with Honda Sensing and Honda Connect 2.0 tech, while features such as wireless charging and hands-free tailgate opening are available as well.

2023 Honda Breeze Powertrain Specs

The forthcoming 2023 Breeze PHEV is a new plug-in hybrid model that will likely get the same Sport Hybrid e+ setup as the CR-V PHEV.

That means we can expect it to use an electric motor that should produce 190 horses and a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 145 horses. Thanks to a 17-kWh lithium-ion battery, the current CR-V PHEV is capable of going more than 50 miles on a single charge. Unlike the CR-V PHEV model, the Breeze PHEV should offer even more power and more pocket-friendly consumption. At this moment we don’t know which transmission will be used, and how many modes will be available.

2023 Honda Breeze Release Date, Price

Unfortunately, Honda didn’t provide detailed information about the new Breeze PHEV model. So far, we have known that the forthcoming SUV will be introduced in the coming months, probably at some of Shanghai’s events.

As a recap, the 2023 Honda Breeze is based on the current CR-V model, but it gets its own unique styling and many mechanical changes.
