2020 Honda WR-V enters the dealership later this month. The Japanese automaker offers a refined new model, that will be available in India. Also, besides the facelifted WR-V, Honda will launch the new generation of the popular City model.
The refined crossover brings a good amount of updates and improvements. The carmaker will offer WR-V in SV and Vx versions. The reservations are already underway via all authorized dealerships in India.
2020 Honda WR-V Dimensions, and Engine Specs
Recently, Honda WR-V goes through a mid-life update. Therefore, 2020MY won’t bring any drastic changes. The crossover will keep the dimensions. The total length is 4000 mm (157.4 inches), the width is 1,734 mm (68.2 inches), and the height 1,600 mm (62.9 inches). The wheelbase is 2,555 mm (100.5 inches) long, and the entire weights stand at 1,481 kilograms (3265 pounds).
Also, according to the Honda India reports, the crossover will keep the 1.2-liter i-VTEC naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder petrol mill. However, the engine will be tuned a bit, to meet the BSVI emission standards. The 1.2-liter unit produces around 90 Ps (88 hp) at 6,000 rpm, and it comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Furthermore, the Japanese company might include a CVT in the upcoming model.
Still, there’s no official confirmation of this rumor. Still, one thing is certain – the 2020 WR-V won’t include a diesel engine. At least for the initial release. We expect to see a diesel option in the near future. If that would be a case, the diesel version of the WR-V will include a 6-speed manual gearbox.
As for the exterior, 2020 Honda WR-V will continue the same design principles from the previous version. This model is already three years in production, and there’s no need to change the appearance. For now, at least.
So, expect to see refined front grille with horizontal slats and more noticeable chromed grille. Furthermore, the crossover features a LED projector headlamps and subtle improvements for the back of the vehicle.
2020 Honda WR-V Interior, and Price
The cabin of 2020 Honda WR-V won’t bring anything to different from the ongoing version. The crossover will keep the steering-mounted controls, push-button start, cruise control, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity will be part of the standard equipment.
As for safety, 2020MY offers dual front airbags, rear parking camera, rear parking sensors, and ABS+EBD as part of the standard equipment. The forthcoming model will have a higher starting price than the current version. Therefore, the base model will start at 800,000 Indian Rupee (around $10,800).
The range-topping version could have a price tag of 1,048,000 Indian Rupee ($14,170). The main rivals of the WR-V crossover will be the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV3000, Hyundai Venue, and Tata Nexon.
